For ages, ever since the first humanoids were awed by the sky, or by the power of nature, or by the beauty of their surroundings, we have created deities to help us guide our way through the terrible world.
We’ve imagined these gods and goddesses to be beautiful, benevolent beings; perfect, as we can never be.
What if our images were wrong? What if the gods were great and terrible? Like the icy, wind-swept mountains of sharp stone, the gods were merciless, uncaring, impassively or savagely causing our demise?
Note: this is a fantasy painting, and a description of fantastical ideas. This isn’t a religious post. I’m not questioning your religion, nor mine.
